Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 12 pecan halves
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
- 1 egg for egg wash
- 1 tablespoon milk for egg wash
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375F 190C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into 12 equal squares
In a small saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over low heat until it forms a caramel-like sauce
Place a pecan half in the center of each puff pastry square
Drizzle the caramel sauce over the pecans on each square
Sprinkle a few chocolate chips over the caramel sauce on each square
Fold the corners of each square over the filling, creating a pinwheel shape
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk to make an egg wash
Brush the egg wash over the tops of the pastry squares
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the pastries are golden brown and puffed up
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly
Dust with powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness
Serve warm and enjoy
