Ingredients:
- 2 cups frozen peas
- 1 small red onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup chickpea flour
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
- 2 tbsp water
- For the chutney: 1 cup fresh coriander, 1 small green chili, 1 tbsp lemon juice, salt to taste
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 180C 350F and line a baking tray with baking paper
In a large frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat
Add the cumin seeds and fry until they start to pop
Add the onion and cook until soft and translucent
Add the ground coriander, turmeric, ground cumin, garam masala, and salt
Cook for another minute
Add the frozen peas and cook until heated through
Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly
In a large bowl, mix the chickpea flour, chopped coriander, and water to form a dough
Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and flatten each portion into a disk
Place a spoonful of the pea mixture in the center of each disk and fold the edges over to enclose the filling, forming a ball
Place the balls on the prepared baking tray and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown
To make the chutney, blend the fresh coriander, green chili, lemon juice, and salt in a blender until smooth
Serve the kachori warm with the coriander chutney
